Tanjung Aru is an urban district located 3km south of KK City Center, most famous for its 2km stretch of beach along the west coast of Sabah - the nearest to town. A spacious and beautiful beach by city standards, the sea waters here are relatively unpolluted, opening out to a view of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and incredible sunsets during evening.
Prince Phillip Park is a recreational garden west along the beachfront while east features a stretch of bars, restaurants and food court housing hawker stalls under an open-air complex. Located within the vicinity are Terminal 2 of KK Airport, Perdana Park and a little further away next door, Sutera Harbour Resort.
