Laban Rata Resthouse and its neighbouring huts is the only hotel (up to 146 beds) near the peak of
Gunung Kinabalu, at 3,270 meters high and 2.7km before the summit at Low's Peak. Managed by Sutera Sanctuary Lodges, the hostel features budget-level dormitory accommodation on simple bunk beds with common bathroom. For guests who pay top dollar, a pair of twin-sharing rooms and six-person dormitory are available that provides heating and attached bathrooms with hot shower. Also located within the vicinity are Gunting Lagadan, Panar Laban and Waras huts that provide more dormitory accommodation, especially when space runs out at Laban Rata.
