Kundasang

Mount Kinabalu

Kundasang is a town and agricultural valley located 5km after Kinabalu Park or 16km before Ranau along the east coast highway route to Sandakan. Situated around 1,500 meters above sea-level, Kundasang is Sabah's very own Cameron Highlands and vegetable bowl, supplying most of the greens and beans in North Borneo.

At its heart is a famous fruit and vegetable market opposite the town center that attracts daily customers of local and international origin. Many hotels can also be found here that provide alternative accommodation outside Kinabalu Park. Finally, Kundasang is also the sole gateway to Mesilau, an alternative climbing route of Mount Kinabalu 9km away from town.
