Poring Hot Springs is a nature reserve at the lowland region of Kinabalu Park, located about 18km away from Ranau town. This popular tourist destination features a series of tiled bathtubs fed by sulphuric hot springs in an imitative style of Japanese 'onsens'. For an additional rate, a small water park and indoor private cabin baths provide more options for visitors.
These natural hot springs are a favourite post-recovery trip for climbers returning from Mount Kinabalu, but the park also has its own nature attractions that include Rafflesia flowers, waterfalls, butterfly garden and canopy walk in the jungle. Open daily from moring till evening, a small ticket fee is charged. Accommodation is available.
