Jesselton Point

Kota Kinabalu

Jesselton Point is the city's main ferry terminal, serving the popular tourist routes to the islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park by speedboat, and also trips to Labuan. Located north of KK east of the Waterfront, it lies within easy or moderate walking distance from most hotels and parts of town, including Gaya Street and base of Signal Hill.

During the colonial era, it was a wharf that exchanged trade between Sabah (North Borneo) and the West. The old railway service from Beaufort transported their goods up to Jesselton (KK), where ready ships carted them for trade around Asia. Today, the ferry terminal area is also a popular nightlife spot and features a small shopping complex.
