Kiansom (also spelled 'Kionsom') Waterfall is the closest major waterfall park to KK, located 25km north of the city center in Inanam, near Kokol Hill. A refreshing retreat from the city heat, the waterfall consists of multi-tiered cascades over a hill slope. The lowest levels can be reached easily by way of cemented walkways but upper tiers can only be accessed by a steep jungle trail near the entrance.
Facilities at the park include gazebos, washroom and car park, while situated nearby are hawker stalls that sells food and fruits. The access road to Kiansomwill pass the entrance of Mari-Mari Cultural Village, a famous tourist attraction showcasing Sabah's cultural heritage.
