Lok Kawi Wildlife

Kota Kinabalu

Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is a zoo 25km south of KK City between Penampang and Kinarut districts. Managed by Sabah Wildlife Department, the zoo is nestled on 280 acres of forested land and features an open environment concept seen in spacious enclosures that resemble the animal's habitat as closely as possible.

Here, visitors can view most of the mammals endemic to Borneo, including pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys and the popular Orang Utan. Tigers, otters, sun bears, wild cattle, civet cats, crocodiles, snakes and birds are some other animals that make up the cast. The park can be reached from the city through Donggongon (Penampang) or Putatan (Papar).
