UMS Marine Aquarium and Museum is a tourist attraction at University Malaysia Sabah, located 6km north of KK City along the coast at Likas. This relatively small but informative marine aquarium is managed by Borneo Marine Research Institute, housing a collection of live corals, fish, turtles and other sea creatures in large display tanks.
A gallery displays preserved specimens of coral, shells and even the skeleton of a Cuvier’s Beaked Whale. The aquarium also has a replica of the Sipadan wall diving exprience, nestled in an overhead diorama after the entrance. At the bottom of the hill off the museum, visitors will past a hatchery and reach a secluded but rocky beach.
