Sandakan Memorial Park is a memorial ground dedicated to natives and prisoners of war caught in the Sandakan Death March that happened during the Japanese Occupation in World War II. Located near the airport in Sandakan, the memorial is housed on a landscaped garden and divided into six stations, each exhibiting part of the former prisoner camp. A commemorative pavilion in the park houses a gallery that provides information on the Sandakan Death March along with a stone obelisk pays tribute to all those that died.
